I am so blessed to call Calvary Baptist in Tuscaloosa my church home. Our church seeks to be an all-inclusive community of loving people living out the story of God. In the aftermath of the tornado, our church has been committed to providing long-term solutions. Before the storm even hit, our church was working with the Mayor's Hope Initiative to form relationships with people in a housing community that was heavily devastated by the storm. As a result of this, our church pledged to support 25 families who had lost everything in this community as a result of the tornado. This support is aimed to providing a new place for the families that will be furnished and 3 months of bills paid. Because of overwhelming gifts, our church has been able to make this pledge to 31 families.
If you feel led or inclined to giving after this tornado, I would love to direct you to my church's website. You can be confident that every penny you give to tornado relief will go to tornado relief. By the grace of God, our church paid off its debt at the end of last year.
