We met our freshman year in college, 2 days before classes began.
I went with some friends over to a few guys' house, thinking I was going to win the heart of one of those guys. Jordan was not that guy.
As we walked into the house, I heard a guy (Jordan) saying, "On the streets I'm a legend. In my hood I'm a star."
He had me laughing from day 1.
He was a little late to the party, and I dated another guy for a couple of months.
Friendship quickly turned into more.
On February 9, 2007 I went on a first date with my best friend to Chili's and then back to his dorm to watch "Diary of a Mad Black Woman."
We dated all through college.
It was always "Carlin and the guys."
We had our ups and downs.
We got really close to calling it quits during the summer of 2008.
2 days short of 4 years since the day we met, he asked me to spend the rest of my days with him.
In front of my refrigerator.
I took the ring, without saying "yes" or allowing him to put it on my finger.
On May 28, 2011, I said "I do" to a lifetime of laughter, adventure, and love to my prince charming.
Every day he shows me I'm loved.
Every day he points me to the Cross.
Every day he makes me a better person.
