making a family

I am such a dog person. I've always loved dogs, and my family has always had a pet dog. When Jordan and I started dating I found out quickly that he was not as keen on 4 legged pets as I was. As long as we've been together, he's tolerated our family dog, Turner. Over the years, he's said that we'll get a dog...eventually.

A few weeks ago, my neighbors and our friends adopted a yellow lab. As soon as I found out they had a new friend, I called to see if I could come over to meet him. I was not even sure if Jordan would want to go with me. He did! And, boy, you would be surprised. He and Charlie bonded. After their friendship blossomed, Jordan asked his youngest sister to start researching dogs for us. We're going to be living in an apartment and Jordan has allergies. She kept telling us we either need a shih tzu or a maltese.

Yesterday, Jordan's mom started sending me picture messages of this adorable 2 year old dog who needed a new home, who happened to be a mix of maltese and shih tzu. I was in love at first sight, so of course, I started trying to coerce Jordan into it. It really didn't take much persuasion on my part, and at a little after 4 yesterday afternoon we were on our way to meet Jordan's mom to pick up our new dog!

Meet Pressley. He was a little apprehensive of us at first but warmed up quickly. He is now my "shadow," following me where I go!
