my favorite month...surprise!

I've sat down to write a mushy-gushy Valentines' post several times but have had a hard time figuring out exactly how I wanted to write it and what I want to talk about. I feel like I keep my cheesy moments in check, so I'm not too worried about showing that side of me right now.

Those of you who know me may be very surprised to see the title of my post--my favorite month. I love the summer. I love being in a swim suit, flip flops, no make-up, by the pool all day. I could live all day everyday in the sun and be perfectly content. But, contrary to popular belief, there is a month that will always rank as my favorite month--February.

Not only is February the shortest of the months, the month in which we celebrate Valentines' day, and the month that shows that there is the promise of warmer weather coming. For me, February is always overtaken by nostalgia of a February 4 years ago.

I met my fiancé Jordan 2 days after we moved into our dorms our freshman year, August 2006. There was something about him from the beginning. I was automatically drawn to his sense of humor and felt comfortable around him, comfortable enough to be myself. It wasn't until after Christmas that something more starting evolving from this friendship. At the beginning of February, I remember sitting at Calvary's Super Bowl fellowship and a couple of someone's hinting at what was between Jordan and me. Jordan asked me on our first date that February and we had the "DTR" talk that same month. Every February takes me back to those sweet first days of that relationship that will be leading to marriage in just a few short months.

I am so thankful for Jordan in so many ways. He is WAY too good for me. He puts up with my crazy emotions and my moods that can change in a blink of an eye. He affirms me in ways that make my insecurities seem to not even exist. He is the easiest person to talk to and makes me laugh until my stomach hurts. He loves the Lord and strives to live a life that glorifies Him. Praise the Lord for this man. I am extremely blessed to get to become his Mrs. in just a few months!

So happy that you found your Mr. Right! It is great to find someone who'll put up with our womanly quirks (speaking from personal experience)! Happy February!
