This weekend, we welcomed another member to our "family." This may seem strange or confusing, but my close friends from high school and I are very similar to a family. Most of us have known each other since we were 6 years old, or even younger. We've been through a lot together and somehow still remain close and love each other. My friend, Laura, was a beautiful bride this past weekend as she married her love Craig.
We started hearing about Craig the summer before we went to college. Laura had gone to do a counselor-in-training program at Camp Glisson for a couple of weeks during the summer of '06. When she came back, she was excited about many things, one being she had met a guy that went to Belmont, where she would be attending school in the fall. There always seemed to be interest on Laura's part, but it wasn't until the next summer, when they were back at Glisson and I was at Camp Marannook, that I had heard that they had "made it official."
This was a lovely weekend celebrating Laura and Craig and their love for one another. It was fun to see their worlds of Nashville and "The Valley" collide. I love both of you so much and are so excited for you! I'm running the risk of sounding cliche, but I could not have picked out someone better for Laura than Craig. He affirms her and loves her and builds her up. You do not have to be a love doctor to see his love her; it's that evident! Welcome to the family, Craig!!
