How I Celebrated Veterans' Day...

I will never make light of our Veterans and those currently serving our country. I'm so thankful for what they do to provide freedom for those I love and myself. I'm thankful for my grandfather, pictured below, who was among those who stormed the beaches of Normandy. I did not really have the chance to know him, but I have always loved hearing stories about him from those who loved him and love me. Thank you, to all of those who have helped us to have the freedoms we enjoy today!

Jordan had his first day off this year, besides Labor Day. I usually do not work on Wednesdays to set aside time to focus on school work. However, this week, I knew that spending a weekday with Jordan would be a rare and welcomed treat, so I worked Wednesday at the church so I could have the day off from there. I found out Wednesday night that the kid I was supposed to tutor Thursday morning canceled, so I got to spend the entire day with my fabulous fiancé! We watched a movie, ate at one of his favorite places (Catfish Heaven) that is only opened during the day, and he even endured some shopping with me, which always proves to be frustrating.

My friend, Laura McClellan (so weird but fun to say now!) introduced a website to me a couple of years ago, NoiseTrade. Noisetrade.com is a website on which artists have chosen to put their music. You can pay a self-determined amount or email friends or post on Facebook or Twitter when you get an album. I love all things free and introduced my roommate, Jillian, to it last year. We each had gotten a sampler off this website and fell in love with the sound of Ben Rector's music. After getting an entire album of his, we were put on his mailing list and found out he would be at Samford University for FREE last night! Of course we took advantage of this fabulous opportunity and had fun singing along with him while sipping on FREE coffee. We also got to meet up with my dear friend Tessa for dinner at Urban Cookhouse, which is super cute and super yummy in the heart of Homewood.
